Backend Security Engineering Residency (Internship) — CoDream, Kaua‘i

What You’ll Work On
- Architect and maintain secure APIs and micro-services in Go, Python, or Node.
- Integrate modern cryptography (RSA/ECC keys, digital signatures, secure key storage).
- Hunt for and remediate OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities before they reach production.
- Collaborate with the AI team to sign and verify model outputs.
- Document best practices so future residents—and your résumé—benefit from your work.
You’ll Thrive Here If You
- Are comfortable with a level of ambiguity and going with the flow
- Have completed at least two classes—or the self-taught equivalent—in algorithms, distributed systems, or infosec.
- Have built a backend side-project and can explain your code decisions.
- Understand the basics of TLS, JWT/OAuth, or Linux hardening.
- Love digging through docs, asking questions, and fixing what isn’t working.
- Bonus points for cloud skills (AWS or GCP), DevOps know-how, or experience with compliance frameworks like SOC 2 or ISO 27001.
