
Special Education Assistant
Job Opportunity: Special Education Assistant (Occupational Therapy Focus)
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Special Education Assistant (Paraeducator) with
an Occupational Therapy (OT) focus to support two children on the autism spectrum. This is a
unique opportunity for a mature, compassionate individual with expertise in neurodivergent
activities, sensory integration, and daily adaptive skill development.
Position Details:
• Location: Kauai, Hawaii.
• Schedule: Full-time with school-based and therapy support hours.
• Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience and based on cost of living.

Responsibilities:
• Provide one-on-one support for two children (attending school and therapy
sessions).
• Assist in implementing occupational therapy exercises as prescribed by therapists.
• Support sensory regulation strategies and neurodivergent-friendly activities.
• Foster independence in daily living skills (e.g., self-care, organization, transitions).
• Work collaboratively with therapists, teachers, and family members.
• Engage in structured play, motor skill development, and academic reinforcement.
Ideal Candidate:
• Experience as a Special Education Assistant, Paraeducator, or Occupational
Therapy Aide.
• Background in working with neurodivergent children, especially those on the autism
spectrum.
• Knowledge of sensory processing, fine/gross motor skills, and behavior support
strategies.
• Patient, proactive, and adaptable to different learning styles.
• CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to obtain).
