Expeditor
The Expeditor role ensures a smooth workflow between the kitchen and guest tables. The work environment is fast paced to get orders out quickly and efficiently. As an Expeditor, you must have excellent communication skills and experience in a restaurant’s hectic setting. The goal is to make service faster and better to help enhance quality and reputation.
Activities/Tasks
• Ensure the efficient flow of orders from the servers to the guests and/or takeout.
• Ensure orders are being prepared with the correct priority.
• Assist in the final preparation of dishes including slicing pizzas and delivering to guests, verbally confirming what is being delivered with the ability to speak knowledgably about menu items.
• Check items before delivery for accuracy, presentation and bake quality.
• Eliminate obstacles in service, food preparation lines or dishwashing.
• Inspect the work area ensuring quality and sanitation standards are met and assist in cleaning where needed.
• Communicate important information to the kitchen and the serving staff (e.g. guest requests).
• Escalate guest complaints to manager to ensure guest satisfaction and preserve Flatbread Company’s reputation.
• Support other kitchen and dining room tasks as directed by the Kitchen Manager.
• Respectfully communicate with team members on a regular basis.
• Receive feedback on 360 Mystery Shop scoring criteria and engage in performance improvement post evaluation.

Job Requirements
• Proven experience as food expeditor/runner or other restaurant position
• Dexterity in using kitchen equipment or utensils and carry dishware
• Well-organized, ability to be a leader and communicate effectively
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills
• Outstanding coordination and multi-tasking abilities
• A guest-oriented approach
• Physical endurance to be in constant motion
• Understanding of food hygiene and commitment to food safety policies
• Great time-management skills
• Dependable consistent attendance, and able to work shifts that include weekends and evenings
• High school degree or equivalent in education and experience
• Commitment to food safety, personnel safety, sanitation, product preparation, and personnel development
• Ability to collaborate with team members and demonstrate team spirit
• Must be physically present in the building. This role is not eligible for remote work.

Physical Requirements/Environment/Working Conditions
• This job operates predominantly in a restaurant environment requiring extensive standing.
• Exposure to heat, smoke, cold.
• Must have the ability to sit and stand; exhibit manual dexterity to use equipment; see and read printed material with or without vision aids; communicate so that others may understand clearly; physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds; to bend, to stoop, to walk and to reach overhead.
