Dishwasher

The Dishwasher role is an invaluable part of the kitchen team, ensuring clean and sanitized plates, eating utensils, glassware, and kitchenware are readily available to enable constant service to our guests.
 

Activities/Tasks
• Collect used kitchenware from kitchen areas.
• Load and unload dishwashing machines.
• Wash specific items by hand (e.g. wooden cutting boards, large pots and delicate items).
• Store clean dishes, glasses and equipment appropriately.
• Ensure there are always enough clean dishes, glasses and utensils, especially during peak hours.
• Manage cleaning supplies stock (e.g. detergents) and notify management of replacement needs.
• Check washing machines’ operation and promptly report any technical/performance issues.
• Remove garbage regularly.
• Sanitize the kitchen area daily, including the floor.
• Respectfully communicate with team members on a regular basis and carry out tasks as directed by the Manager on Duty.

Job Requirements
• Ability to follow instructions and help with various tasks, as needed.
• Time management skills.
• Attention to detail and sanitation rules.
• Physical endurance to stand for long periods of time.
• Understanding of food hygiene and commitment to food safety policies.
• Dependable consistent attendance, and available to work shifts that include weekends and evenings.
• High school degree or equivalent in education and experience.
• Commitment to food safety, personnel safety, sanitation, product preparation, and personnel development
• Ability to collaborate with team members and demonstrate team spirit.
• Must be physically present in the building. This role is not eligible for remote work.
 

Supervisory Responsibility
• This role does not have any supervisory responsibilities.
 

Physical Requirements/Environment/Working Conditions
• This job operates predominantly in a restaurant environment requiring extensive standing.
• Exposure to heat, smoke, cold.
• Must have the ability to sit and stand; exhibit manual dexterity to use equipment; see and read printed material with or without vision aids; communicate so that others may understand clearly; physical ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds; to bend, to stoop, to walk and to reach overhead.
• Must have high level of mobility/flexibility. Bending, reaching, walking.
