Theatre Production Aide

Basic Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing or interested in a degree in Theatre Production, Theatre Arts, Performing Arts, Stage Management, Technical Theatre, or a related field.
  • Basic knowledge of or strong interest in theatre production processes, including set design, lighting, sound, and stage management.
  • Familiarity with backstage operations and basic stage equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with the capacity to adapt in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a diverse team of professionals.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to follow detailed instructions and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Passion for the performing arts and a strong desire to gain hands-on production experience.

Responsibilities:

  1. Production Support & Operations:
    • Assist with organizing, maintaining, and setting up production equipment, ensuring a clean and efficient backstage area.
    • Support various production needs, including helping with setup, breakdown, and transitions between rehearsals and performances.
    • Work with stage management, deck crew, and other production teams to coordinate tasks such as managing props, executing stage cues, and facilitating set changes during live performances.
  2. Learning from Technicians:
    • Shadow and collaborate with sound, lighting, and atmospheric technicians to gain practical experience in backstage technical operations.
    • Assist with the operation of production equipment and systems, learning industry best practices and gaining insights into the technical side of theatre.
  3. Administrative & Coordination Support:
    • Assist with documenting production reports and compiling related logistics.
    • Coordinate with actors, crew members, and external talent to ensure seamless communication and efficient rehearsal schedules.
    • Help ensure compliance with local regulations and assist with securing permits and logistics for production needs.
