Business Intern

This intern position is estimated to start around March 2025.  Duration is negotiable.  

Position Overview

This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic environment, contributing to key business functions across marketing, administration, customer service and client relations.  You will be encouraged to take initiative, bring new ideas to the table, and have a tangible impact on the company’s success.  

 

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Business Intern to join our team, supporting our Marketing and HR Manager.  The ideal candidate will be a business student looking to expand their skills in marketing, event planning, sales support, and internal operations. 

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Marketing
    • Project Collaboration:  Work closely with the Marketing and HR Manager to support larger marketing initiatives, from campaign creation to execution, gaining exposure to a range of strategic and operational tasks.
    • Social Media Content:  Create and schedule social media posts across multiple platforms, contribute to content creation for client newsletters, and support brand messaging efforts.
  • Client Relations
    • Client Engagement:  Assist in putting together personalized client gifts and help manage client inquiries, both in-person and over the phone. Provide product information and exceptional service to walk-in clients.
    • Event Support:  Collaborate on planning and coordinating company events, client meetings, and team-building activities, ensuring they run smoothly and reflect our company’s values.
    • Sales & Administrative Support:  Help answer phone calls, manage data entry and assist with various administrative tasks.  Provide sales support by preparing materials, organizing product information, create bid documents and research.  Possibly assist with walk-in clients.
  • Operations
    • Internal Resource Development:   Assist in building and maintaining an internal resource SharePoint site, including the documentation of processes and procedures for streamlined internal communication.

 

Qualifications

  • Current student pursuing a degree in Business, Marketing, HR, or a related field.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple tasks effectively.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a passion for client engagement and creative problem-solving.
  • Solid understanding and usage of social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn) and marketing tools.      For example, Canva, PowerPoint, creating dynamic Reels, and visually appealing posts.
  • Possess unwavering integrity and solutions-mindset with an eagerness to learn, collaborate, and contribute to team success.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Reliable transportation

 

Work Environment

This is a hybrid opportunity that will require some in-person time at the Office Pavilion location downtown.  Successful candidates must have their own means of transportation and a valid Hawaii driver's license.
