Job Overview

Accounting Intern will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of a certified public accounting firm while learning technical, professional and business skills. Interns are supervised by directors, managers, senior accountants and experienced staff accountants.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Compile financial statements and assist with review and audit engagements
  • Prepare various tax returns – individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns
  • Prepare and organize workpapers to reconcile account balances and support financial statements 
  • Collaborate with staff and management 
  • Assist with researching tax and accounting issues
  • Be familiar with professional standards, financial reporting frameworks, and tax codes and regulations

 

Key Skills and Experience Required

  • Actively pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting with a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Able to work at least 20 hours per week
  • Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Self-starter with a strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Ability to work well within teams as well as individually
  • Proficient in Excel, Word and Outlook
