Community Mobility Solutions VISTA

Serve as an AmeriCorps VISTA Member with the County of Hawaii on the Island of Hawaii! 

VISTA Members serve for one year with a not-for-profit to make a positive impact while earning a living stipend, an education award, health benefits, relocation benefits (if eligible) and non-competitive eligibility for federal jobs. Housing is provided with this position!

The County of Hawaii has offices located in Hilo and Kailua-Kona. The mission of the County’s VISTA program is to help restore regenerative governance on Hawaii Island to more effectively and equitably addresses the social, economic, and environmental determinants of health and well-being that challenge the Island's most vulnerable families and communities. 

The Community Mobility Solutions VISTA will assess the mobility and transit landscape on Hawaii Island by conducting research, partnering with network stakeholders, identifying viable funding opportunities, and engaging with the community, in preparation of robust outreach. They will also stand up a digital dashboard of key evaluation metrics to understand the performance impacts of mobility initiatives on social, environmental, and equity-related matters in Hawaii County.
