Associate Director of Development, Special Events

Position Title: Associate Director of Development, Special Events

FLSA Status: Exempt

Reports To: Executive Director

 

POSITION SUMMARY:
 

 The Associate Director of Development, Special Events is an integral member of the REHAB Foundation team. Reporting directly to the Executive Director (ED), of the Foundation for the Rehabilitation Hospital of the Pacific (REHAB Hospital), the role of the Associate Director of Development, Special Events is to develop, establish and carry out an effective multi-year  fundraising event strategy to support the Hospital’s ongoing programs, projects and initiatives. This role works collaboratively with the Foundation and REHAB Hospital staff to deepen community engagement and strengthen philanthropic support of the mission. Through thoughtful cultivation and stewardship of the organization’s individual and corporate donors, the Associate Director of Development position is responsible for creating  engaging events with meaningful impact for REHAB Hospital and our community.

Starting Wage: $72,000.00/year.

The posted wage is the current starting wage for this position. Actual wage is dependent on the applicant's relevant experience and qualifications for this position. The wage range for this position may be subject to change in the future depending on a variety of factors such as market conditions, business needs, legal developments, and other appropriate factors.

 

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
 

Certification/Licensure:

Valid State of Hawaii’s driver’s license 

 

Education:

Graduate from an accredited college with a Bachelor’s Degree.

 

Skills/Experience:

Three (3) to five (5) years of recent experience in the fundraising arena, or minimum three (3) years of relevant work equivalence/experience. 

Experience with major donor recruitment and retention, corporate and foundation relationship building, successful donor campaigns, events, strategic planning, and fundraising program development.

Passion and commitment for our mission, vision and values of REHAB Hospital.

Team player with a strong work ethic, high integrity and moral character.

Strategic big-picture thinker, with the ability to recognize and plan for details. 

Superb communication skills, both written and verbal. 

Stellar sales and negotiation abilities, tempered with diplomacy.

IT skills and comfortable working in the e-verse.

Comfortable navigating technology and computer software. Proficient in email communication, Adobe, virtual meeting software, MS office Suite and Google workspace.

Database experience with a fundraising Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool is an asset.

Familiar with online event, bidding and auction software (ie: Greater Giving)


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
