Position: University Advancement Student Worker 
Hours: 19 hours per week, flexible schedule 

Under the supervision of the Campus Engagement Coordinator (CEC), University Advancement (UA) student workers will actively work to contribute to UA initiatives and help sustain the Sharks Legacy Campaign as members of the Philanthropy Committee. This position supports University Advancement events, initiatives, and fundraising campaigns, including data management and administrative tasks. Assist in content creation for social media and maintain organization in University Advancement spaces.  

Minimum Requirements: 

Excellent problem-solving skills: ability to systematically identify and define a problem, determine the cause, identify, prioritize and select alternatives for a solution, and implement a "best fit" solution. 

Strong teamwork skills: interest, skill, and success in getting groups to work together. Ability to develop, maintain, and strengthen partnerships with others inside or outside the organization. 

Organized. 

Strong written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills: must be able to communicate and work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds. 

Ability to take notes and verbally report to CEC. 

15-19 hours of weekly availability. 

Responsibilities: 

Assist in creating and executing components of the Sharks Legacy Campaign project that are current, engaging, caring, and inclusive. 

Advance skills in collaboration and project management. 

Under the guidance of CEC, develop branding and social media strategies around the campaign. 

Serve as a resource to other seniors and graduating students. 

Promote Sharks Legacy campaign through in-person and social media engagements. 

Meet with fellow committee members as instructed by the CEC. 

Identify resources, services, and systems to leverage for the best outcome.

Qualifications: 

Enrolled as a student at HPU. 

Strong communication and organizational skills. 

Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). 

Interest in fundraising, event planning, and/or marketing preferred. 

 

 Positions Available: 

Graphic Designer: Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) required. Experience with branding and layout design preferred. 

Video Editing and Capture: Experience with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro) and knowledge of video production techniques required. 

Summer Workers: Available to work full-time hours during the summer months, supporting various University Advancement projects and initiatives. 

Sharks Legacy Members: 

Assist in promoting and supporting the Sharks Legacy campaign. 

Engage with current students, alumni, and donors to cultivate a sense of pride and community. 

Help organize and execute events and activities related to the Sharks Legacy campaign. 

Collaborate with the University Advancement team to create engaging content for social media and other communication channels. 

Provide general administrative support to the Sharks Legacy campaign and University Advancement team.
