Telehealth Navigator (Part-Time)
Job Summary
(12) Regular, Part-Time (50% FTE), RCUH Non-Civil Service position with the Department of Health, located in libraries on Oahu. Continuation of employment is dependent upon program/operational needs, satisfactory work performance, availability of funds, and compliance with applicable Federal/State laws.
HOURLY RATE RANGE: $16.81 - $20/Hr. (@50% FTE)
DUTIES: Facilitates library users to find, schedule, and do telehealth visits. Provides direct support to library users with use of desktops, laptops, and smartphones to connect to the internet. Assists library users with education to increase their digital literacy to find on-line health information. Meets regularly with telehealth navigators across the state and the supervisors. Collects evaluation data and feedback from library users and staff to improve project activities.
PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent.
KNOWLEDGE: Must have working knowledge of technology (computers, smartphones, internet) and an interest in working in the healthcare field. Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Team, Zoom, Adobe Acrobat, and email.
ABILITIES & SKILLS: Must have excellent communication skills and possess the ability to work with technology and different telehealth platforms. Must be flexible and patient to troubleshoot technology issues. Must have the ability to build relationships with a broad range of people, organization members, health care providers, and library staff. Must be able to read and understand detailed instructions and have excellent organizational skills. Must be culturally competent and able to multitask. Post Offer/Employment Condition: Must be able to pass a post offer criminal background check. Must be able to complete the UH Information Security Awareness Training (ISAT) within two (2) weeks from date of hire, and re-certify every twelve (12) months.
PHYSICAL/MEDICAL DEMANDS: Frequent sitting, standing, walking, grasping, carrying, and speaking. Occasional reaching, bending, and stooping. Lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to twenty-five (25) pounds, with assistance if needed. Frequent use of computer, keyboard, and phone.
POLICY/REGULATORY REQUIREMENT: As a condition of employment, employee will be subject to all applicable RCUH policies, procedures, and trainings and, as applicable, subject to the University of Hawai‘i's HIPAA/PHI privacy and security policy and the Department of Health HIPAA/PHI privacy and security policy. Violation of the RCUH's, the UH's, or the business entity's policies and/or procedures or applicable State or Federal laws and/or regulations may lead to disciplinary action (including, but not limited to possible termination of employment, personal fines, civil and/or criminal penalties, etc.). Must complete the University of Hawai‘i's HIPAA/PHI privacy and security training and the Department of Health HIPAA/PHI privacy and security training immediately after hire or not later than employee’s initial exposure to HIPAA/PHI. Must maintain a current status on the University’s and/or the business entity's training requirements.
