Performs Linux and Microsoft Windows systems support to include such tasks as operating system installation and maintenance, user account
management, and data backup and recovery. Provides support for active directory, mail, name, blackberry, and file services. Provides system and application support
to Department of Defense (DoD), commercial and educational projects. Provides technical support for the Vanguard Center for High Performance Computing
(VCHPC) help desk and PC Support Group. Independently analyzes and resolves hardware and software problems. Develops and maintains documentation
regarding VCHPC computing infrastructure. Maintains an understanding of leading edge, high performance computing technologies and operating systems.
Communicates with computer hardware and software vendors to maintain an awareness of computational hardware and software technologies. Works closely with
senior computational professionals in determining customer requirements and the effective application of VCHPC computer systems. Provides training for staff and
users as needed.
