Project Mechanical Engineer

MEH is looking for a PROJECT MECHANICAL ENGINEER to provide HVAC, Plumbing and Fire Protection design, technical analysis and resolution of engineering problems, effectively collaborating with a team of engineers, designers and contractors to successfully take a project from conception to completion.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems in accordance with the client’s requirements and compliance with local and federal codes.
  • Use AutoCAD and REVIT to draw mechanical and plumbing plans.
  • Use software, charts and manufacture’s catalogs to run HVAC loads, select equipment, and size ductwork and plumbing piping. Perform load calculations use building energy analysis software carrier HAP, equipment selection, specifications, shop drawing review, answer contractor’s RFI and produce working documents utilizing AutoCad. Perform energy compliance calculations when required by code. Use word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Meet and participate with clients, contractors and others regarding design issues and problems. Respond to contractor’s requests for information regarding substitution of equipment and field conditions/issues.
  • Review and approve contractor’s submittals including HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems. Review and revise HVAC and plumbing contract documents.
  • Site Visits: Conduct to evaluate existing systems for replacement or alternative actions; participate in and prepare punch lists for partial and final completion of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems; resolve any mechanical systems problems; commissioning.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, License/Certifications a plus
  • Innovative and creative thinking to solve problems
  • MS Office
  • Experience using AutoCAD, Revit a plus
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate with all engineering disciplines, construction managers and non-technical personnel and clients.
