Make-A-Wish® Hawaii Program Services Internship- Spring 2024
PROGRAM SERVICES INTERNSHIP
This individual will assist the Program Services team in the planning and follow-up of wishes for eligible children across the Hawaiian Islands. Each year, we grant about 100 local wishes, ranging from wishes to go to Walt Disney World®, have a tree house, or meet their favorite hero. Program Services interns will facilitate in all aspects of making wishes come true, including:
- Maintaining communication with local wish families
- Communicating with medical professionals and referral partners
- Assisting with referral calls
- Completing file close-outs
- Updating the wish database
Ideal for applicants pursuing a degree in Social Work, Psychology, Child Life or related fields. Applicants should be comfortable communicating with wish families, medical partners, and other constituents on behalf of Make-A-Wish Hawaii. All majors are welcome. Multilingual students are encouraged to apply.
Requirements
Internships are available during the Spring 2024 semester and applications are accepted and reviewed on a rolling basis. We request a 10-15 hour per week commitment for the duration of the semester by potential internship applicants. To be eligible, potential interns must be enrolled as a student during the period of internship. Internships are also available for course credit (contingent upon university approval). All internships are non-paid. We have openings in our downtown Honolulu office. Qualified applicants must possess strong written and oral communication skills, working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint), and demonstrate maturity and responsibility. Ability to handle multiple tasks and possess strong organizational skills is also encouraged.
