DRC has been providing the Property and Casualty insurance industry with cloud-based software solutions that supports personal, commercial, and specialty insurance. Working with carriers ranging in size from startups to Fortune 100 companies, DRC has developed a breadth and depth of expertise in both technology and insurance processes, affording clients the best in technologies, services and solutions.

As an intern, you will be able to directly contribute to DRC’s product functionality. Your fresh perspective, creativity, innovation and technical skills will directly benefit the challenging problems we have to solve for clients and the industry. You will gain real world development experience and build lasting relationships networking with industry professionals. In addition, our internship program is paid and lasts eight to ten weeks from June to early August.
During the internship you may work on two small to medium projects or one large project with the mentorship and support of DRC’s technology professionals. You will present your projects to a group of Senior Leaders throughout the intern program.
Interns will be grouped into a team of up to five individuals focused in different disciplines. The interns will perform the marketing and software development activities to manage, design, build, test, and deploy software features. Through the internship, you will gain:
-Experience to different roles in software development
-Exposure to DRC corporate culture through meaningful work
-An appreciation for the business challenges that our clients face
-Enrolled as student in good standing with a preference for Juniors or Seniors
-Major aligned to technology such as Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Business, or Marketing
-One year work experience (work, school or student activities, volunteer, extracurricular, etc.)
-Understanding of software development lifecycle and principles (design, development, testing, deployment)
-Understanding of marketing concepts, as well as research and analytical skills
-Self-motivated, organized, and detail oriented
-Sharp verbal and written skills
-Ability to drive to deadlines while maintaining quality and completeness
-Ability to take direction and/or work with minimal supervision
Additional Qualifications for:
-Proficiency with software development tools, design, and coding
-Analyzing industry trends and competition
-Proficiency with research tools and methods
-Basic knowledge of design tools & guidelines
-Analyzing business functions and using excel to configure user interface and insurance rate calculations
-Excel experience with logical, financial, lookup & reference formulas
-Creating specifications, wireframes, etc., to assist development
-Collaborate with team to define and own testing strategy
-Execute the testing strategy both manual and automated
-Ensure products are delivered based upon internal standards and client expectations
