Program Description
Can you tell what’s newsworthy before it becomes news? Are you a natural storyteller? Are you outgoing, have strong communication skills, great attention to detail, and excellent writing ability? Are you a highly motivated and eager learner? If the answer is ‘yes,’ we might have the perfect opportunity for you. Aqua-Aston Hospitality’s award-winning Corporate Communications team is seeking an Intern. The intern position reports to the Assistant Vice President of Corporate Communications and supports the Social Media Manager. The ideal candidate is interested in gaining experience in content creation and learning how communications can differentiate and elevate brand image Offered at our Aqua Aston Corporate Communications Office in Honolulu, Oahu, the College Internship Program is designed to last 3 months depending upon the participant's availability and the needs of the department. The participants should expect to work a full-time schedule in this program. All College Internships are paid at an hourly wage. 
The College Internship Program also offers:

The selected candidate will gain valuable, real-world experience by contributing to day-to-day internal, external, and stakeholder communications efforts. This position offers the opportunity to put your writing skills to the test in a variety of mediums, including but not limited to newsletters, internal memos, press kit materials, sales and marketing collateral, and social media. The position also offers exposure to sponsorships, photo shoots, research, market analysis, media monitoring, and campaign development.

Job Requirements

Education
  • Candidate should be pursuing a college degree.
  • It is preferred that the candidate is actively pursuing a degree in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, or related field degree.

Experience
  • Prior work related experience preferred.
  • Past Interns who are interested in completing an additional internship will be considered first. Previous performance rating will be taken into consideration.

Standards of Dress & Grooming
  • Corporate Interns must adhere to Marriott Vacations Worldwide Corporation Policy HR-EMP-19 Standards of Appearance.
  • Non-uniformed interns should dress with good business taste and in clothing appropriate to their jobs. Good business taste does not include ripped blue jeans, shorts, spandex pants, tank tops, midriffs, halter tops, or other generally recognized casual sportswear. Dress or skirt length should be no shorter than four inches above the knee. All interns must wear proper undergarments.
