Qualifications:
Student must be in the First-to-Work Program, which is under the Dept. of Human Services. DHS contracts with the University of Hawaii system under the Bridge to Hope program to provide on-campus employment to First to Work Students. Students must be enrolled in a minimum of 12 credits in the Fall and Spring semester. Most students are expected to work 20 hours per week during the regular semesters. Hours can be increased during the Spring and Winter breaks and for the interim periods between summer classes with permission. Students must see Bridge to Hope UHWO contact Loea Akiona for placement referral. Students will be placed in various campus jobs depending on experience and skill level.
Duties:
Student assistants may be hired in areas such as clerical and reception support, lab monitors, cashiers, and other areas to support UHWO programs and offices. Duties will depend on the worksite.
