Women in Transportation Initiative (WITI) Internship Program

The USDOT Women & Girls In Transportation Initiative (WITI) offers an internship program enabling young women from colleges and universities across the country to participate. The WITI internship programs is administered through the department's Small Business Transportation Resource Centers (SBTRC) which provide resources, technical assistance and outreach to all 50 states and U.S. territories.

The Small Business Transportation Resource Center - Southwest Region (SBTRC-SW) is looking for eligible Interns within Arizona, California, Hawaii, and Nevada for the Summer of 2022 to receive compensation as a stipend up to $3,000.

Qualifications:
  • Attending a HBCU, Minority Serving Institution (MSI), or Tribal College (Required)
  • An undergrad Junior or Senior (Ideally)
  • STEM-related field of studies (i.e., transportation, public administrations, urban planning, and political science) (Ideally)
  • Should have received or will receive course credit (Ideally)
  • The Intern should work at least 30 hours a week for at least 6 week.*

*The exact number of hours to work each week is to be set by the Project Director.
