HVAC Field Service Technician

We have an immediate need for a Field Service Technician

About the role
The Field Service Technician will work with the local team to provide support to multiple projects.
Primary Responsibilities
Plan, schedule, coordinate, and execute preventive maintenance, repair, and inspection activities for multiple projects.
  • Operations, Maintenance, Repair, Replacement, and Installation of HVAC, Electrical, Power Generation, Plumbing, and all associated Controls systems including DDC systems.
  •  Document and track all activities, keep maintenance records, and electronically document all work activity
  • Hands-on maintenance, repair, and project inspections as required.
  • Detect, troubleshoot and resolve equipment and systems problems when they occur.
  • Manage subcontractors working on maintenance, repair, and inspection activities at assigned sites
  • Make frequent site visits to inspect equipment and meet with customers and subcontractors. Generate site inspection reports and action plans as needed
  • Ensure that data acquisition systems are collecting M&V trend data as needed. Collect trend data and transit to the M&V department
  • Interface with customers, address any concerns and maintain and improve customer relations
  • Drive to local project sites as required.
  • Prepare inspection and monthly project status reports that are well written and accurate
  • Prepare subcontractor scopes for maintenance and repair bids. Evaluate bids and contract terms and conditions
  • Maintain and update computer project folders and files in a neat and orderly fashion
  • Perform any other tasks or responsibilities as assigned by the Operations manager
Required Experience, Education & Licensure
  • High School diploma or GED
  • CFC/HCFC Universal certification
Preferred Skills and Experience
  • 5- years of verifiable work experience in the Military/Commercial/Industrial maintenance and repair industry.
  • 5 years or more as a project/service lead or another comparable supervisory role.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to Electrical, HVAC, mechanical, and DDC equipment and systems
  • Knowledge and experience with control systems, HVAC systems, steam boilers, chillers, and power generation equipment.
  • Motivated self-starter requiring minimal supervision
  • Safety conscious with up-to-date training focused on the Electrical & HVAC service industries
  • Proficient computer skills and fully proficient with MS Office applications, especially Word, Excel & Outlook
  • Excellent writing, editing, communications, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to obtain Federal security clearances required
  • Mental alertness and ability to concentrate with distractions nearby
  • Ability to stand, stoop, reach, bend, climb and crawl
  • This position requires working in diverse locations and conditions including but not limited to mechanical equipment rooms where there can be potential exposure to noisy operating equipment, exposure to extreme weather conditions, precarious places, and proximity to electricity including high voltage. A detailed safety review must be completed and reviewed before any work. Adherence to all Safety Procedures will be required.
  • This position is highly physical and requires regular use of hands, fingers, walking, standing, stooping, reaching, kneeling bending climbing, and crawling
