Dental Customer Service Representative (Hawaii)

We have an immediate opening for a Dental Customer Care Representative or Dental Customer Care Advisor with previous experience servicing customers to join our dynamic Honolulu, Hawaii team at USAble Life!

  • Pay starting at $18.50 per hour plus annual incentive of up to $2,000 (pay based on years of experience and education)

Essential Duties:
  • Demonstrate proficiency in our products and services
  • Provide exceptional service by listening and understanding for the caller's needs and situation
  • Answer customer questions and complete appropriate follow-up activities regarding individual coverage and claims associated with those policies.
  • Exhibit HMSA Dental’s commitment to providing peace of mind to dental providers and members
  • Review and proficiently explain our products and services, coverage provisions, claims statuses, and claims decisions
  • Navigate multiple systems as sources of customer information to answer inquiries, troubleshoot claims, and investigate payment discrepancies
  • Maintain well-written notes on all service interactions in a claims/customer management system (ICS)
  • Effectively work within the service teams, across teams, and with management to resolve customer requests, inquiries and concerns. Partner with management to provide training and guidance to less experienced team members.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to listen to the customer's question, probe for appropriate information, and understand the underlying need
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrate ability to work in multiple administrative systems to locate information, investigate and resolve questions  
  • Ability to be self-sufficient, manage time in a scheduled work environment and work well with other team members
  • Basic knowledge of MS Office including Word, Excel, and email tools
  • Understand the sensitivity of customer data and demonstrate the ability to protect both customer and business information
  • Expresses information and concepts clearly and professionally and adapts communication style to the audience and situation

Required Education and Experience:
  • The Dental Customer Care Representative would have a high school diploma or equivalent with one year customer service experience.
  • The Dental Customer Care Advisor would have high school diploma or equivalent with 2 years of customer service experience.
  • Or equivalent military experience

Preferred Education and Experience:
  • Some college course work and/or secondary training in Insurance Field; LOMA 280/290 certification.
  • Experience in healthcare, medical provider, insurance, medical terminology, claims processing and/or medical coding. Sales Force and/or CRM tool working knowledge and/or experience
