Who you are:
Are you interested in the commercial real estate industry? Would you like to learn more about property accounting for commercial properties? Colliers International is currently seeking a junior or senior year college student to join our team for an internship in our Honolulu office. As part of the internship, Colliers will provide learning opportunities throughout the organization so that you understand the fundamentals of property accounting following this experience. We are pleased to offer a flexible schedule to work around any coursework you may need to complete. The internship will provide an opportunity to work with a high-profile, international real estate services firm. You will meet successful professionals who can provide exposure to multiple accounting portfolios and functions within the commercial real estate industry.
The selected intern will have the opportunity to partake in the full cycle accounting and monthly reporting for a portfolio of properties, with focus ranging from billings/payables/cash receipts to general ledger, reconciliations, property budgets and financial statements.
What you bring:
• Currently pursuing an accounting degree
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills including professional writing and email structure
• Ability to think critically and solve problems while keeping track of details
• Proficiency in MS Office suite Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, Adobe Product Suite Strong customer service skills
• Ability to multi-task with strong follow through
What success looks like:
· You successfully meet monthly reporting deadlines without compromising accuracy
· You provide financial advice to your property and general managers within your portfolio
· You build positive working relationships with your team members, sharing your expertise and collaborating as a group
· You work with minimal supervision and bring your technical expertise to a high-performing team
· You successfully coordinate the integration of new properties into the accounting workflow
