2022 Fall Intern (Commercial Real Estate Lending)

Position Function:
Central Pacific Bank interns have the opportunity to challenge themselves by practicing concepts learned in the classroom and applying them to real-world situations/production in a workplace relevant to their area of study. 
  • Participate in on-the-job training in an assigned department to gain general knowledge of banking and the business area.
  • Develop important skills such as time and project management, problem solving, leadership and effective communication. 
  • Interact with Bank employees and leaders and gain experience by working alongside our team to learn company processes and improve efficiencies. 
  • Gain valuable insight into corporate culture that can lead to networking and job opportunities upon graduation.
The Commercial Real Estate Internship is available to students throughout the entire school year with a focus on the following:
  • Financial statement analysis (rent roll & operating statements of properties)
  • Global cash flow and tax return analysis
  • Create and work with Proforma statements
  • Author credit write-ups
  • Content is not made-up curriculum, but actual “live” work
  • Personalized meetings with executive management

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
  • Enrolled as a current student in good standing in a four-year degree program at an accredited college or university or in a two-year program, intending to transfer to a four-year program.
  • Major or related coursework in Finance, Commercial Real Estate, and Accounting preferred but not required.
 Experience:
  • One year of work experience or equivalent (volunteer work, school activities, leadership opportunities etc.) required

Physical Requirements & Working Conditions:
  • Must be able to perform light physical work and to move or lift items including but not limited to boxes, files and papers up to 20 pounds unless otherwise as indicated.
  • Must be able to operate and proficiently use standard office equipment, including phone, copier, personal computer and/or other work related mechanical or electronic devices and applications.
  • Must be able to clearly communicate verbally and in writing with all internal and external customers. Must also be able to hear sufficiently to engage in daily discussions and interactions.
  • Must be able to read and understand bank-related documents. 
  • Must be able to work in a conventional office setting, involving sitting at a desk or workstation for long periods of time. Must also be able to adapt to different work environments as needed to perform the job.
