Accounting Internship

Part-time (Average 20 to 30 Hours per Week), Monday to Friday, may accommodate work schedule based on classes.

POSITION SUMMARY
WBM is seeking an Accounting Intern to join its accounting division. WBM is seeking a highly motivated intern who is ready to apply accounting theory and knowledge to real-world experiences. The internship will be challenging, technical, and dynamic. The Accounting Intern will assist with various accounting activities, including but not limited to accounts payable, month-end financials and data entry. The Intern will be working alongside with the accounting team and tax professionals to develop skills necessary to be successful in his/her professional career.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist with the accounts payable process, including the classification of invoices for payment and processing check requests. Assist with research and data entry. May be asked to complete reconciliations of bank accounts and other reconciliations necessary to support financial statement closing, under supervision. Participate in the preparation of work papers and journal entries. Prioritize and organize work to meet deadlines. Frequently communicate with senior/manager on work progress. Deliver best-in-class customer service to clients and employees at all times with an emphasis on being responsive, professional, and accurate. Establish and maintain a positive working relationship with clients, and co-workers to promote a quality service image. Protect organization’s values by keeping information confidential. Actively contribute to the overall positive culture of the company. Other duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS

Accounting Intern must meet the following requirements: Education: In process of obtaining a degree from an accredited college or university with a major in Business, Accounting or other related field. Experience: Preferred but not required - work experience in a professional environment, which demonstrates progressive increase in responsibilities or any combination of education and work experience. Prior experience will be useful in providing the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities to meet the minimum qualifications to perform the essential functions of this position. Licenses: Intern has the desire to obtain a CPA license. Computer Skills: Beginner to moderate knowledge of Adobe Acrobat and MS Office, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Knowledge of Intacct, QuickBooks, or other accounting programs would be helpful. Other Requirements: Perform other duties as required. Ability to follow instructions, work in a team environment, as well as work independently. Intern must possess strong verbal and written communications skills, maintain a positive attitude, and seek help/ask questions as needed. Accounting Intern may also be asked to work additional hours or weekends based on project demands. Location: WBM prides itself on being locally staffed.
