We’re Kama’aina Kids, Hawaiʻi’s Enrichment & Education Professionals since 1987. Bring your love of children and past experience in childcare or early childhood education to our dedicated and caring team. While prior experience working with children is helpful, it is not required. We will provide full training for the right candidate!

Job Title: Preschool Teachers, Aides and Caregivers for locations in Oahu. (Honolulu, Kaneohe, & Kailua area Preschools - See below for location information)

QUALIFICATIONS:

For Teachers: 
A combination of experience and education/training is required. Teacher qualified applicants may have:
  • a CDA* (Child Development Associate) or a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood, Child Development or a related field
  • College coursework or training* in early childhood development 
  • 12-24 months of experience in a licensed childcare program.
 
For Caregivers:
A combination of experience and training is required. Caregiver applicants may have:
  • A H.S. Diploma or equivalent
  • 12 College Credits in Early Childhood OR 30 hours of Infant/Toddler Development Training*
  • 12-24 months of experience in a licensed childcare program with children under 36 months
 
*If you don't quite meet these requirements, don't fret! Kama'aina Kids can help you qualify for a Teacher or Caregiver role if you're interested & committed to personal growth. (Infant/Toddler Development Training & help obtaining your CDA!)
 
For Teacher Aide:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Have or be willing to obtain First Aid & CRP/AED Certification (Qualified Training Provided).
  • No prior experience required; all training is provided for you, our enthusiastic new team member!

“A day in the life” of a Teacher or Aide can look like this:
  • Greeting the children and families as they arrive/leave for the day.
  • Implementing fun activities from our curriculum that focus on the development of young children. (We're so much more than a 'daycare'!)
  • Snuggling with little ones while singing & reading stories.
  • Encouraging physical activity while exploring the outdoors with the children.
  • Enjoying a relaxed meal after an adventurous science activity or creative art experience.
  • Ensuring that all children are safe, comfortable, secure and well-cared for.
  • Communicating with families about the children’s experiences that day.
  • Setting up the classroom for the next day of activities.
  • Going home with the satisfaction of knowing you made a difference!
