POSITION SUMMARY:
This position reports to the Manager of Deposit Operations. The Deposit Operations Specialist will be required to service external customers and provide assistance and support to branches and departments. Additionally, individual must develop and exhibit a strong understanding of deposit systems, applications, products and services.
Performs all other duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Provide a consistent and high degree of support to the branches in the servicing of customers and to provide assistance and support to branch and department personnel. Handle inquiries from customers and from branch personnel.
- Develop and exhibit a strong understanding of the bank’s suite of deposit products and services. Leverage knowledge to support, maintain and cross-sell deposit products and services.
- Support each of the following deposit operations functions: internal/external customer support, ACH processing and risk management, item processing functions, vault cash operations, regulatory requirements, and implementation of new deposit operations applications, products and services.
- Maintain and support existing core and ancillary deposit applications, including, but not limited to: new account origination, sweep programs, core security, reporting tools, foreign currency exchanges, compliance reporting/monitoring software, and monthly management reports.
- Communicate and interpret Bank policies and regulations, as well as the contents of specific directives.
- Visit various branch and department locations for training in operational functions.
- Obtain continuing education through seminars and workshops relating to deposit products and services to ensure the availability of the most up-to-date techniques and materials. Recommend training and updates to bank policies or practices to Deposit Operations Manager.
- Provide assistance in training programs for compliance issues related to Operations.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business or equivalent work experience.
- Prior bank deposit operations experience preferred. (open to recent college graduates)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must be highly organized, fosters collaboration and teamwork, and demonstrates the ability to apply critical thinking skills on a regular basis.
- Ability to deal effectively with branches and the bank’s other business units. Communicate and collaborate with managers and employees at all levels.
- Proficiency or demonstrate willingness to become proficient in the following Microsoft applications: Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Sharepoint.
- Transportation to travel to branches.
