Audit Associate

Audit Associates are given a wide variety of diversified assignments under the direction of supervisor, manager or partner. Performance is judged based on the quality of work, application of accounting knowledge, and ability to meet time constraints.

Essential Duties:

  1. Assist audit engagement teams in performing audits of companies
  2. Perform audit procedures and document results
  3. Obtain an understanding of client’s internal controls and performing various test of controls
  4. Research audit and accounting issues to ensure audit engagements compliance with GAAS and GAAP
  5. Records transactions in ledgers, prepares trial balances and simple financial statements
  6. Reconciles accounts to control accounts.
  7. Performs schedule computations of accruals, property and equipment, and calculates depreciation expense.
  8. Performs audit or review procedures as assigned by supervisors.
  9. Performs other accounting, auditing as needed in engagements and as assigned by supervisory personnel.

Other Duties:

  1. May be given senior level responsibilities of planning and scheduling engagements.
  2. May be required to perform all phases of an engagement including report writing and tax return preparation.
  3. May supervise other staff accountants.
  4. Such other duties as may be assigned.

Education, Experience and Skills Required:

  1. Bachelor’s degree in accounting, or Master’s degree in accounting.
  2. Minimum GPA of 3.0
  3. Proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office applications
  4. Well-rounded knowledge of accounting principles.
  5. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely in English.
  6. Either hold a current and valid certified public accountant’s license, or be working toward obtaining the license by taking and passing the applicable state CPA exam.
