Retail/Thrift Shop Intern

Holy Nativity Church Thrift Shop is a retail model that includes a selection of clothing, jewelry, framed art, toys, and home décor.  

Thrift Shop Internship will provide valuable experience in retail management, customer service, inventory control, marketing, and supporting a culture of volunteer staff. All internships are unpaid with a shop credit, but course credit can be arranged. Upon successful completion of an internship, interns may also request a letter of recommendation from their supervisor. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Support operations of the Thrift Shop to meet the goals of Holy Nativity. 
2. Provide excellent customer service and become familiar with Holy Nativity’s mission to raise revenue for our Outreach Programs.  
3. Mentor our diverse community of volunteers on their assigned daily tasks. 
4. Process sales, handle cash and credit card transactions.  
5. Receive, sort, and organize donated items.  
6. Research and price donated items.

REQUIREMENTS 

• Able to commit to 3+ months.    
• Able to commit to 8+ hours per week, Wednesday, Friday, and/or Saturday.   
• Able to bend, stoop, move and lift moderately heavy objects.    
• Detail-oriented and have an interest in non-profit work. 
• Able to work independently and in a team setting.
