
Student Intern (Special Agent)
HSI is the principal investigative arm of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, responsible for investigating transnational crime and threats, specifically those criminal organizations that exploit the global infrastructure through which international trade, travel and finance move. Our area of responsibility encompasses Hawaii, Guam, and Saipan.
The Spring 2026 program will take place at HSI Honolulu offices throughout Hawaii, Guam, and Saipan. Schedules are flexible; however, assignments must be completed Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-6:00 PM.
Eligibility Requirements
- U.S. citizenship;
- Be at least 16-years old;
- Be enrolled at least half-time in a degree-seeking program at an accredited college or university;
- Have at least 30 undergraduate credits and 2.5 minimum GPA; and
- Pass background investigation.

- Academic achievement;
- Work experience;
- Extracurricular activities; and
- Interest in HSI’s mission and careers.
