Counter Help
We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Counter Staff to join our team in a fast-paced restaurant environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, handling cash transactions, and ensuring food safety and sanitation standards are met. This role is crucial in creating a welcoming atmosphere for our guests while efficiently managing their orders.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist them with their orders
- Take, prepare and verify customers' food orders for catering, delivery or pick-up made through the phone or in-person.
- Sell and package food items, products and merchandise, demonstrate knowledge of items to customers.
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system for cash handling and processing payments
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the counter area, ensuring compliance with food safety regulations
- Assist in food preparation and restocking supplies as needed and verify product deliveries
- Upsell menu items to enhance customer experience and increase sales
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve any issues promptly
- Perform basic math calculations for cash handling and change distribution
- Perform other duties as required by management
- Helping with food prep on down time is a plus
Skills
- Strong customer service skills with a friendly demeanor
- Experience with cash handling and familiarity with POS systems is a plus
- Knowledge of food handling practices and sanitation standards is a plus
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- Basic math skills for accurate cash transactions
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members
- Previous experience in a restaurant or food service setting is a plus
