[Temp] Retail Cashier and Packer

Summary:

A high-end California Lifestyle Boutique is seeking temporary support staff to assist with packing and payment operations during our busy summer season.

This role is designed to help sales associates focus on customer service by taking over tasks related to handling purchased items and processing payments.

This is not a sales role, and candidates will not be involved in commission-based selling.

Responsibilities:

  • Carefully pack purchased items at the register, ensuring there are no mix-ups or errors
  • Handle payment processing, primarily credit card transactions (some cash handling involved)
  • Provide efficient and courteous service behind the register area
  • Maintain attention to detail to avoid mistakes in item handling and payment

Requirements:

  • Must be able to handle tasks independently without causing disruption to front-line sales activities
  • Previous retail or cashier experience is preferred
  • Basic English communication is required; Japanese language skills are a plus, but not mandatory
  • Must be able to stand during shifts and lift light items (typically up to 1 kg)

Work Schedule:

  • Work hours: 12pm to 8pm
  • Working days: 5 days a week (weekend as needed)
  • 2 days off per week

Compensation

  • $20 per hour (DOE)
  • This role is not commission-eligible as it does not involve sales duties
  • Employer-provided parking
